So I’m intimidated to write the first blog post. It’s like whenever I get a new sketchbook or journal, I always have to leave a few pages blank in the beginning. I make an unofficial start, and skip a few pages in before putting pencil to paper. I go for non-linear stream of consciousness messes.

I’ve been working on Cape Cod for the past few weeks, doing some travel guidebook layout and web design. It came about really randomly… Found it on craigslist and the original project has turned into a bunch more work. I’m happy about it and I should be able to continue to do some of the work remotely. I’m planning to get back to Buenos Aires before July 1st, and squeezing in a trip to Florida to visit the folks next week. I’ll be happy to get back to some normality/routine after my last 3 nomadic months.

Some of my experiences in Provincetown this past week:

1. Saw a Drag Queen in a dress covered in rubber doll heads screaming at people on the street.

2. The very colorful “Funkmobile” taxi drove past me, with people inside singing karaoke through the soundsystem. A large butch woman to my right looked at me and gruffed “Only in Provincetown”. She’s right.

3. Went out to the very tip of the Cape without knowing about the boat that can take you in five minutes. So after 20 minutes of crossing/hopping the breakwater causeway rocks, and one hour of trudging through sand dunes teeming with with poison ivy, I arrived at the very end of Cape Cod. Yes, I thought of my trip as an episode of the TV show Man Vs. Wild. I was so unprepared in jeans and converse, without any food or water. But, since it turned into a beautiful day and was completely deserted out there, I at least got some sun when I stripped down to my boxer briefs (that’s another story). I returned by way of the beach, and only had to contend with the high tide. Miraculously, I haven’t broken out with ant poison ivy… yet.

OK, bear with me because I’m in the process of revamping my site. I decided to go the blog route so I can share info, stories, and opinions. It’s weird that so many people think they have something brilliant to say and therefore create a blog. That’s not my deal, but I do want to be able to show/share stuff like: my design work portfolio, JC Penny photo shoots, art and photos… and yes, maybe some brilliant things that I may have to say.
