“Yoko split up the Beatles.” Maybe… but ever since I saw her “Yes Yoko Ono” retrospective at the Japan Society in NYC cerca 2001, I have appreciated Yoko Ono as a serious artist and not just a catalyst for Wings. And by serious I mean thought-provoking, original, interesting, conceptual, crazy, and very unique. Seriously. You have to view her artwork with an open mind and a large grain of salt. And unlike the mass-market acceptance of the Beatles, Yoko still isn’t quite ready for the mainstream, as evident in this recent clip from Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The Plastic Ono Band (with son Sean Lennon on guitar) performs “Waiting for the D Train” from her latest album. It’s bizarre, but honestly she’s come a long way from her 1960’s buzzing like a fly for 3 solid minutes. Now it’s 2000’s fly-speak interspersed with hooky guitars. Joy.

My corset photo was something of a shocker to my friends and family. “Sullen, gaunt, possessed” to quote a few. Note to self: stop taking photos at 3AM, tired and unbathed… unless of course I’m smiling. Hence this mini gallery of recent, post-corset shots stolen from facebook.
